Equity Honors Marsha Moss: Making a Difference
for Visual Fine Artists ARTISTS EQUITY HONORS
MARSHA MOSS, for her service as the Director of Sculpture Outdoors. Since the late 1970s, she has
curated over 50 major exhibitions at outdoor sites and in alternative
spaces in the Philadelphia area and across the country. During the 1980s, Moss
served as President of the Cheltenham Center for the Arts. She has also done public art
consulting work for corporations, universities, the Redevelopment
Authority, and the municipal Percent for Art Programs. Her
experience as a consultant spans the full range of project management for
permanent commissions for both architectural and environmental sites. Moss founded the Artfront
Partnership in 1993, as a member
of the MayorÕs Cultural Advisory Council. The Arts and Business Council honored the Artfront
Partnership as finalist for the
Awards of Excellence in Arts Management, and Arts and Business Partnership. Moss has also served as
Public Art Consultant for the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Presently, her focus is SEPTAÕs Art in Transit Program,
where she is working on integrating major permanent commissioned work into
over 20 transportation centers and stations. As an advocate for
artists, Moss serves on the boards of non-profit arts organizations. She is often chosen to present the
ÒartistÕs perspectiveÓ in organizations, such as Philadelphia Volunteer
Lawyers for the Arts. In recognition of
these contributions which advance the careers of fine artists, the 2008
ARTISTS EQUITY AWARD will be given to Ms. Moss. When: Sunday, May 18th, 11:30
